I find myself being bothered today by certain anti-Pitbull websites that pretend themselves to be "victim advocacy". This is incredibly foolish, since I already know the people involved are fear-mongering lunatics, but even so today it got under my skin. Maybe it's hormones, or maybe just the usual pre-class nerves because what if this time the others in class raise hell about taking a class with a "vicious breed"? or maybe I'm just annoyed they've added new junk about Rottweilers being monsters.
After all these years, I should be used to it and have a thicker skin. Dealing with ignorance comes with the package, when you own a breed that is labeled negatively. You have to accept it and move on, because there will always be people more interested in hysteria than fact.
People like that make me want to follow Lauren's advice, and work on making Krypto a certified Therapy Dog down the line. He lights up a room wherever he goes, and makes friends so easily with his HUGE HAPPY toothless smile and his wagging tail. And I can always remember, for every idiot out there that thinks my babies are monsters......there are dozens of people that want to pet them at Petsmart or neighbors that pet them over the fence and sneak them treats.
